EVE TRANSMISSION
EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES

This year, Eve Transmission is experiencing a period of growth and expansion and its traditional work of overhead power line construction and refurbishment for National Grid has never been busier. Building on the work of the previous two years, the main projects at Dungeness-Ninfield, and Keadby-Grimsby West continue this year and the Birmingham Northern Relief Road project has also commenced in 2002.

The upturn in workload for transmission line projects in the UK, which is expected to continue over the next 5-10 years, and the increase in the work for National Grid, has led Eve Transmission to expand its workforce. This has been achieved through an on-going recruitment drive at all levels from new graduates to experienced linesmen and engineers.
There are also significant overhead transmission line work opportunities appearing in Ireland and Scotland and in several international markets around the world at the current time. This year, Eve Transmission has been investing heavily in research and strategy development to identify which of these international markets will provide the best potential for future expansion.
Meanwhile, the gearing-up of skilled manpower resources within the business to meet the increased demand in the UK and overseas, remains an integral part of Eve Transmission's planned expansion strategy.
