EDITOR'S COMMENTS
I think it was the golfer, Gary Player, who once said something along the lines of 'The harder I work, the luckier I get'. I often find myself thinking about this comment, especially when I see friends and colleagues working really hard and seemingly getting nowhere and others who just seem to fly through life with everything falling into place.
Looking at comments that are made by senior executives and business people, success is not just about working hard, but attributable to a range of things, from staying focussed on costs to not becoming complacent about the competition.
As I put together this issue of the Peterhouse News, I was heartened to see that the hard work seems to be paying off for the Group companies. As well as the determination and efforts of the teams to listen to their clients and provide them with the service and solutions they require, there is also the realisation that the experience and expertise of the individual Boards, enable the companies to set their course and successfully steer their ships through what can either be calm or rough waters.
The journey is by no means complete, but there is a positive feeling within the Group that with the right captains and crew on board, Gary Player's comment may have a distinct ring of truth to it!
