Nigel McKinnell, MD, Eve Trakway
Nigel was born in Southport and raised and educated in Lancashire. Having defected across the Pennines, Nigel now lives in Yorkshire with his wife Amanda and two children Tom (16) and Lizzie (12). Prior to joining Trakway Nigel worked for HSS in the UK in various positions before setting up HSS Rental (USA) as Operations Director, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Nigel joined Trakway as Business Development Director in 1998, progressing to Commercial Director in 1999. Nigel was appointed Divisional Managing Director of Eve Trakway in July 2001.

Q. How would you describe yourself?
A. Initially easy going but very determined and focused.
Q. What was your first job?
A. I worked in a garage serving petrol and valeting cars while I was at school, my first real job was driving a lorry at a paper company.
Q. What frustrates you?
A. The failure of people to accept responsibility and to achieve their real potential.
Q. What's your happiest childhood memory?
A. I have fond memories of holidays in Cornwall
Q. How do you spend your leisure time?
A. I enjoy boating and water and snow skiing with my wife and children.
Q. What's your favourite television programme?
A. I watch very little television but I do like to see good films.
Q. If you had to choose another job what would you do?
A. I have the best job in the world at the moment but in terms of pure escapism running a charter boat in some exotic location would take some beating.
Q. What is your favourite food?
A. Most things Italian
Q. What food do you hate?
A. Offal
Q. What is your biggest weakness?
A. Impatience
Q. What is the most satisfying thing you have ever done?
A. Personal: As regards a one off event, completing the London Marathon.
A. Professional: Being appointed MD of Trakway
Q. If you could go anywhere, where would you like to go on holiday?
A. Barbados on Concorde
Q. What is your ultimate ambition?
A. Personal: I want to see my children through to a happy and fulfilled life.
A. Professional: My first goal is to see Trakway operating globally as a £100 million business. After that who knows?
