Speed, frequency and comfort

In the Autumn of 2003, Eurotunnel teams launched a "New Attitude Campaign" on both sides of the Channel. The advert emphasises the superior qualities of Eurotunnel's shuttle service (speed, frequency, comfort).

Eurotunnel breaks down the barriers to car travel in Europe, creating the freedom for motorists to go further, and to see, achieve, and enjoy more by connecting Europe for business and pleasure. Crossing the Channel is now so simple - measured in minutes not hours - as Eurotunnel saves passengers both time and effort.

Passenger Shuttles

Smoothing the way

Eurotunnel's popularity is based on its market beating speed - 35 minutes platform to platform - and frequency of service, with up to four departures per hour at peak periods. Customers appreciate the time and effort they save crossing the Channel, safe in the knowledge that, unlike its rival ferry services, their journey will not be affected by the weather. Eurotunnel's reliability is one of its core strengths with 98% of shuttles departing on time* in 2003.

*Departing within 10 minutes of planned departure time.

An essential link

Eurotunnel operates a fleet of nine passenger shuttles, each carrying up to 180 cars at speeds of up to 140 kph through the Tunnel. Services operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing motorists with an essential link in the European transport network. Direct motorway connections on both sides of the Channel add to the convenience of travelling with Eurotunnel.

Opening new horizons

Eurotunnel's marketing activity aims to differentiate it from its competitors by focussing on its unique advantages - speed, frequency and comfort - and highlighting how the ease of travel with Eurotunnel can open up a myriad of opportunities.

Better, quicker, smarter

Eurotunnel makes it possible to do things better, quicker, and smarter. Ticket-less travel makes for a quick and efficient check-in procedure on the day of travel. Prior to boarding the shuttles, customers can take advantage of the extensive facilities on offer in the Passenger Terminal Buildings, including a food court, shopping, and bureau de change. Customers can also pre-order their shopping in the UK for collection on their return in the French terminal, as well as arrange travel insurance, book hotel accommodation and make restaurant reservations at the before u go @ eurotunnel counter.

Prior to boarding the shuttles, customers pass through both UK and French frontier controls (Police, Immigration and Customs), as well as Eurotunnel's own security procedures. On arrival this means customers simply drive off the shuttle and onto the motorway without having to stop for further checks.

On board the shuttles, customers can relax in the comfort of their own vehicle or get out and stretch their legs on the 35-minute journey.
