Anglo French Underwriters
Amlin acquired Financiere Europe Assurance SAS, the holding company of Anglo French Underwriters SAS (AFU), in November 2008. AFU is the largest Lloyd’s approved coverholder in France, focusing on SME specialty business. It writes a diverse book of insurance including property, cargo, professional liability and specie business. In 2008 AFU generated €39 million of gross written premium although the majority of income was written by other insurers. The business employs seven senior underwriters.
