Amersham International acquires United States Biochemical (USB) and becomes a leading innovator in DNA sequencing technology.
USB led the way with its Sequenase™ enzyme for manual DNA sequencing and contributed to further breakthroughs for automated DNA sequencing in 1995. R&D and manufacturing operations were transferred from Cleveland (Ohio) to Piscataway (NJ) in 1999.
