This is Petra Diamonds’ (“Petra”, or “the Company”, or “the Group”) 2010 Sustainable Development Report, covering the Company’s impact and initiatives in the social, economic and environmental areas of society in the financial year from 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010 (FY2010). It should be read in conjunction with the 2010 Annual Report produced by the Company for the same reporting period.

Petra has adopted the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 guidelines as the basis for its sustainable development reporting and has, in this report, self-declared a C level of reporting – see the GRI reporting index. In addition, Petra has reported on its compliance with the Mining Charter, as prescribed by the South African Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA), No 28 of 2002.
